The 2025 NASCAR season appeared to be a limited smorgasbord for seasoned driver Corey LaJoie. Still, he managed to create a distinctive niche for himself that extends beyond the confines of the driver’s seat. He swapped his grip on the steering wheel for a microphone, sparking controversy when he stepped down from his full-time seat — a vacancy promptly filled by none other than Rick Ware’s son, Cody Ware.

With his wealth of experience, LaJoie is primed to guide Rick Ware Racing’s future trajectory through his journey in the Cup Series. The full-time entrant recently shared his thoughts on the mentorship and guidance he anticipates from LaJoie.

The year 2025 hails a period of fresh ventures for both LaJoie and Ware. As Cody Ware stepped into a full-time driving role alongside his father, Rick Ware, many fans believed this move was inevitable. However, the decision wasn’t without its problems, particularly given that it came at the expense of LaJoie, the team’s existing driver.

LaJoie’s reduced status to a part-time driver with Rick Ware Racing was the catalyst for his shift to sports analysis. His extensive experience in the sport could open new doors in this field. Additionally, he will step into an advisory role for Cody Ware, providing guidance throughout his full-time driving stint.

In discussing the mentorship he expects to receive, Cody Ware praised LaJoie’s immense talent and experience. He emphasized the importance of being able to call on LaJoie for advice and support, particularly given the team’s growth and the increased expectations this brings. He also noted that his experience was different from other drivers who have had coaching or extensive racing experience.

LaJoie’s tenure at Rick Ware Racing is noteworthy, despite the absence of victories. After an exchange deal with Spire Motorsports, LaJoie, a native of North Carolina, joined the team. However, after only seven races behind the No. 51 car, he wasn’t able to fully demonstrate his skills, and the full-time opportunity passed to Cody Ware.

This season sees LaJoie not running full-time with Rick Ware Racing but remaining deeply involved, particularly in supporting and mentoring Cody Ware.

Cody Ware’s focus isn’t solely on the Cup Series racing. He is also setting his sights on the All-Star race at North Wilkesboro and two events at Darlington Raceway. As the team owner’s son and successor to an experienced full-time driver, Cody Ware will be under scrutiny to demonstrate his value to the team.

Following the Daytona 500, LaJoie secured his previous sponsor, AirMedCare Network, a division of Global Medical Response and the U.S.’s largest air ambulance membership network. The company will be the primary sponsor for Corey LaJoie and the No. 01 team in the Ambetter Health 400, a NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

LaJoie expressed his satisfaction with this partnership, noting that AirMedCare Network has been a longtime NASCAR partner and they have collaborated to expand its membership. This race marks the network’s first sponsorship as a primary partner, and LaJoie is proud to contribute to their increased marketing efforts in NASCAR.

LaJoie’s potential was evident at Daytona, where he secured the P12 position. Expectations are high for a strong performance at Atlanta.
