If you are a fan of virtual car racing, pay attention, as Sony is celebrating the 30th anniversary of PlayStation by releasing the video game My First Gran Turismo on Friday, December 6. This is a free experience of the iconic racing simulator.
This is a simplified version of the popular simulator, designed to be an entry point for those who have never played a Gran Turismo title.
The creator of Gran Turismo and president of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi, has already revealed that the game “pays homage to the origins of the first Gran Turismo, where players of all generations discovered the joy of driving”.
In the video game and for the PlayStation anniversary, players can try to beat records and face various challenges. There are three racing events, three time trials, three musical rally stages, and a complete set of card tests that allow drivers to put their skills to the test.
All of this is behind the “wheel” of 18 different cars that players can collect. The complete list of available models has not been revealed, but the promotional material shows a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, a 1974 Lamborghini Countach, a 1983 Toyota AE86, a 1989 BMW M3 Sport Evolution, a 2003 Audi TT Coupe, a 2005 Mini Cooper S, a 2014 VW Golf GTI, and a 2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata.
In addition, there are also an Acura NSX, Citroen DS, Daihatsu Copen, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, Suzuki Jimny, and a Volvo 240 SE.
Fully compatible with PlayStation VR2, My First Gran Turismo promises to awaken nostalgia in veterans of this well-known video game, but it will also be capable of teaching newcomers how to navigate the most difficult turns.
