Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari driver, expressed his frustration after narrowly missing out on pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix. Despite dominating three free practice sessions, Leclerc was outperformed by Lando Norris during the qualifying session, leaving him feeling disappointed.

Leclerc commented on his performance, stating, “There is always something more to do, but at the end of the day, this was the best we could do. I think the lap was very good.” He also mentioned his disappointment with his first lap, attributing it to traffic in sector two, which affected his confidence for the second attempt.

Although acknowledging that Ferrari does not currently have the car to compete for victories this year, Leclerc was pleased with the performance of his car during the weekend. Starting in second place, he acknowledged the challenge of overtaking the leader but expressed his fondness for street circuits in general.

Leclerc’s aggressive approach to qualifying and willingness to take risks paid off, resulting in a better outcome than anticipated for Ferrari. Despite the setbacks, he maintained a sense of pride in the team’s performance, especially considering the initial expectations for the weekend were low.

Leclerc’s emotions were evident as he reflected on the missed opportunity for pole position, signaling his determination to continue pushing the limits in upcoming races. The Monaco Grand Prix promises to be an exciting event, with Leclerc poised to deliver an electrifying performance on the renowned street circuit.
