Monaco Grand Prix Drama: Liam Lawson’s Unprecedented Race Strategy Raises Eyebrows

In a thrilling turn of events at the Monaco Grand Prix, Liam Lawson shares his intense experience as he clinched his first F1 points of the 2025 season in a “really weird” manner! The young driver, starting in ninth place, found himself playing a strategic role as a blocker for his Racing Bulls teammate, Isack Hadjar, drawing both praise and criticism from the racing community.

Lawson’s deliberate slowdown to assist Hadjar in completing necessary pit-stops led to a unique race control situation, where the talented Kiwi had to navigate the track cautiously to secure their double points finish. The unorthodox strategy paid off, propelling Lawson to an eighth-place finish and marking his first top 10 result since the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix in challenging weather conditions.

Describing the unusual race dynamics, Lawson expressed his mix of emotions, stating, “It is not often you have a plan where you have the opportunity to completely control the race, and it works out perfectly.” The driver acknowledged the doubts that arose from the intentionally reduced pace but ultimately celebrated the positive outcome of the weekend.

Looking ahead, Lawson hinted at the forthcoming challenges in Barcelona, anticipating adjustments due to wing changes and emphasizing the team’s focus on leveraging their recent success for future races. With the racing world buzzing about the mandatory two-stop rule and standout performances from drivers like Lando Norris, the stage is set for an exhilarating Spanish Grand Prix.

Stay tuned for more updates and expert insights on the latest developments in the world of Formula 1 as drivers gear up for the next thrilling showdown on the track!
