Monaco Grand Prix Drama: Liam Lawson Reveals Team Order Heartbreak Amid Career High

Young F1 driver Liam Lawson reveals his “disappointment” with team orders at Monaco Grand Prix despite achieving his career-best result. The New Zealander secured an eighth-place finish, marking his first points of the season, but couldn’t shake off a sense of dissatisfaction with how the race unfolded.

Lawson, who started ninth on the grid, believed he could have performed better during qualifying, especially as his teammate Isack Hadjar was ahead in sixth position. The 23-year-old was left playing a supporting role during the race as his team, Racing Bulls, strategically used team orders to secure a double points finish.

Although Lawson’s efforts helped his teammate, he expressed his frustration at being on the receiving end of the team’s tactics, stating, “I probably should have done a bit of job [in qualifying], honestly, and that’s a little bit disappointing that we’re on the receiving end of it [team orders].”

Despite benefiting from Fernando Alonso’s retirement, Lawson couldn’t shake off the feeling of missed opportunities and the impact of team strategy on his race performance. The young driver’s reflections shed light on the complexities of F1 team dynamics and the balance between individual performance and team success.

As Lawson navigates the highs and lows of his F1 career, fans eagerly anticipate his future performances and how he will overcome challenges to secure even better results on the track.
