Mobi.E: carregamento de veículos elétricos regista novo recorde em maio

The Mobi.E network recorded 712,000 charges in May, representing a new high and a 45% increase compared to the same month last year, carried out by more than 115,000 distinct users.

As for the energy consumed, it was around 15.8 GWh, an increase of 59% compared to May 2024, and according to the statement, in the fifth month of the year, an average of 22,978 charges were made per day, the highest average ever, representing an increase from the 22,199 charges of the previous month.

Thus, in the first five months of 2025, the number of charges has already surpassed 3.2 million, a 47% increase compared to the same period in 2024. These charges were made by about 200,000 distinct users, an increase of 52% compared to the first four months of last year.

Another important fact is that, as of May 31, the power available from the network exceeded 393,000 kW, thus surpassing, according to Mobi.E, “the requirement set by the European regulation for the creation of infrastructure for alternative fuels (AFIR), which stipulates that there must be a power of 1.3 kW for each 100% electric vehicle and 0.8 kW for each plug-in hybrid vehicle”.

At the end of May, the public charging network consisted of 6,329 stations, corresponding to 11,779 charging points, of which more than 2,420 (or 38.2%) were fast or ultra-fast charging (with power greater than 22 kilowatts – kW).

In terms of environmental savings, in May, the use of the Mobi.E network prevented more than 12,780 tons of carbon dioxide from being emitted into the atmosphere, which the company reveals is “a new record in a single month”.

“It would take more than 210,000 trees, in an urban environment, with 10 years, to retain the same CO2”, revealed Mobi-E, adding that since January, more than 57,200 tons of CO2 have been saved.

The statement further indicates that the Mobi.E Network currently has, on average, 96 charging points for every 100 kilometers of road and 131 charging points for every 100,000 inhabitants.
