Mobi.E: carregamento de veículos elétricos aumentam 47% em junho

The number of electric vehicle charges on the public network increased by 48% in August compared to the same period in 2024, with over 873,000 charges carried out by around 153,000 distinct users.

According to data announced by Mobi.E, the energy consumed followed the growth trend, reaching 20.3 GWh, a 62% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

The data from Mobi.E also reveals that Friday is the “electric day” for the Portuguese, with an average of over 29,000 daily charges, establishing itself as the day of the week with the highest demand on the public electric vehicle charging network.

Furthermore, in August, Mobi.E also recorded, for the first time, more than 30,000 charges in a single day, a feat that was achieved 4 times, two of which were on Fridays.

From January to August, the network has already accounted for more than 5.6 million charges, a growth of 48% compared to the same period in 2024, corresponding to over 127,000 MWh of energy consumed, an increase of 63%.

The number of unique users also continues to grow, surpassing 336,000 since January, an increase of 57% compared to the same period last year.

At the end of August, the public network offered more than 6,880 charging stations, distributed across 12,850 charging points throughout the national territory, of which 2,730 are fast or ultra-fast, enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of the network.

Currently, Portugal has an average of 111 charging points for every 100 kilometers of road and 151 charging points for every 100,000 inhabitants, reinforcing the ongoing commitment to more sustainable, accessible, and efficient mobility.
