With a career batting average of .292, 509 home runs, and 1,676 RBIs, Sheffield’s statistics speak for themselves. However, he will not be joining the Hall of Fame.

He questioned the ability of reporters, who may not have watched him play regularly, to accurately assess his worthiness for the Hall of Fame.
