Mitsubishi Announces Upcoming 2025 Outlander Refresh for America

Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) has struggled in the American car market, with sales barely reaching 51k during the first and second quarters of 2024. Despite this, the company is determined to turn its fortunes around with the new Momentum 2030 business plan. To start, they are focusing on their most successful model, the Outlander series. MMNA recently announced their 2025 lineup, and it seems that the Mirage and Mirage G4 affordable passenger cars will no longer be available.

While there are updates for the Eclipse Cross, Outlander Sport, and Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, the most significant news is the mid-cycle facelift for the fourth-generation Outlander. Unfortunately, only the ICE-powered version will receive these updates, while the 2025 Outlander Plug-In Hybrid remains largely unchanged from its predecessor.

Mitsubishi states that the 2025 Outlander will build upon the success of the 2022 model, with revised front and rear styling and improved luxury in the interior. More details about the changes will be announced later this year or early in 2025, closer to the model’s release in the first quarter of next year. Pricing for the three-row, seven-passenger 2025 Outlander will also be revealed at a later date.

In terms of the 2025 Outlander Plug-In Hybrid, it will not receive a facelift but will now come with standard front heated seats on all grades, a heated steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof on SEL models. Additionally, the My Mitsubishi Connect car service will offer a Safeguard 5-year free trial and a Remote Services 12-month free trial.

Moving on to the 2025 Eclipse Cross, it will feature a standard Rear Seat Alert feature across all trims. The Eclipse Cross SE will also have an upgraded Black Edition with revised styling. Similar to the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid, the Eclipse Cross will offer the Safeguard 5-year and Remote Services 12-month free trials.

Lastly, the Outlander Sport will include the standard Rear Seat Alert feature starting in October for both MY24 and MY25 models of the crossover SUV.

Overall, Mitsubishi is hoping that these updates and improvements will help boost sales and bring the brand back into the spotlight in the American car market.
