MINI revela o novo Cooper com motores a combustão

After revealing the new MINI Cooper electric at the Munich Motor Show in 2023, the British brand has now introduced the combustion engine versions.

The fifth generation of the Cooper is equipped with two gasoline engines, with the Cooper S featuring a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 204 hp, 25 hp more than the previous model, and a torque of 300 Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.

The Cooper C, on the other hand, has a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 156 hp, 20 hp more than its predecessor, and 230 Nm of torque, promising an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. MINI also mentioned that the Cooper is equipped with a suspension and damping system adjusted for a more dynamic driving experience.

In terms of aesthetics, there are no major changes compared to what we already knew from the 100% electric model. However, the front section stands out with the new octagonal grille. In addition, the smallest radar of the BMW Group to date is mounted at the front between the air intakes, and MINI has announced that the new Cooper uses a total of 12 ultrasonic sensors that support the driver assistance systems.

In the interior, the highlight is the round OLED screen with a diameter of 240 mm, which is accompanied by the typical MINI articulated bar and the two-tone fabric instrument panel that create a sense of space.

As for storage, the Cooper has a trunk capacity of 210 liters, which can reach 725 liters with the folding of the rear seat in a 60:40 ratio.

MINI has announced that the new trim levels Essential, Classic, Favored, and JCW offer a wide range of customization options, and that depending on the trim level, the new Cooper C and MINI Cooper S are available with different exterior paint finishes.
