Japanese Super GT Championship driver and Toyota Gazoo Racing development talent Miki Koyama is set to participate in the upcoming all-female Formula E test at Valencia next month. This exciting opportunity marks her return to European racing for the first time since her 2021 W Series stint, where she secured a best finish of fifth at the Red Bull Ring.
Koyama, who has been active in various Japanese motorsport series, including Super GT, Super Formula Lights, and Formula Regional Japanese Championship, won the latter’s 2022 title. As part of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s driver development program, she has been honing her skills across multiple formats and recently debuted in the Toyota GR Cup North America.
The Lola ABT team, in collaboration with Yamaha, has brought Koyama on board for this highly anticipated test session, showcasing her growing influence in motorsport. This aligns with Yamaha and Toyota’s deep-rooted technical partnerships, further strengthening their ties in the automotive and motorsport world.
