The 2025 season of the prestigious Trans Am Series, proudly sponsored by Pirelli’s CUBE 3 Architecture TA2, is set to commence in a thrilling fashion at Sebring. NASCAR veteran Mike Skeen, piloting the No. 48 CUBE 3/Franklin Road/SLR-M1 Chevrolet Camaro, is expected to lead the pack after setting a new lap record in the qualifying round.

Skeen’s blistering lap time of 2m04.196s shattered the previous track record set by Connor Zilisch in 2024, which was 2m05.062s. This impressive feat has placed Skeen in a strong position as he heads into the season opener.

Expressing his exhilaration, Skeen said, “It’s fantastic to be back in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series. The adrenaline rush that these cars provide is unparalleled. My gratitude goes out to TeamSLR for including me in this weekend’s race. The qualifying round went spectacularly, and the No. 48 was a joy to drive.”

Despite having to complete more laps than initially anticipated, Skeen remains confident about the performance of his car in the upcoming race. He thanked his supporters, including Guthrie’s Garage, Franklin Road Apparel, and CUBE 3, for their contributions in making this event possible.

Meanwhile, Barry Boes, driving the No. 27 Accio Data/SLR-M1 Chevrolet Camaro, showcased his prowess in the Pro/Am Challenge, clocking the fastest time among contenders at 2m06.669s.

The much-anticipated race is scheduled for Saturday, with a start time of 12:15 p.m. ET. Fans can catch all the action live on Trans Am’s YouTube channel, @TheTransAmSeries, where coverage will begin at 11:45 a.m. ET. In addition, the race will be broadcast live on SPEED SPORT 1 starting at 12:00 p.m. ET, with a recap scheduled to air at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Stay tuned for more updates on what promises to be an electrifying start to the 2025 Trans Am Series.
