The MG brand of the SAIC group has revealed the first image of the new SUV, the Cyber X, which will be showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show in China, taking place from April 25 to May 2.

The new model, which the brand describes as a “revolutionary innovation” in MG’s history, aims to attract a younger clientele and will initially be offered in the Chinese market.

In the first images released by the brand, the Cyber X features a square silhouette with rounded corners, combining the robust aesthetics of an SUV with a sophisticated and urban image.

Highlights include a LED light bar that dominates the front and rear sections, a signature lighting marked by split headlights, an illuminated MG emblem, retractable door handles, and roof rails.

Although the brand has not revealed details about the powertrain, it is already known that the Cyber X will be based on SAIC’s modular E3 platform, which allows for various body and powertrain configurations. Additionally, the closed grille suggests that the Cyber X is likely to be an electric or hybrid model.

Remember that the Cyber X is part of MG’s aggressive plan to launch eight models in two years, including sports cars, sedans, and SUVs. The brand has already indicated that among the new offerings is the second generation of the MG4, the refreshed Cyberster, which will arrive in 2026, and four 100% electric models.
