Racing Sensation: O’Ward to Make Thrilling Return to F1 with McLaren in Mexico Grand Prix FP1

In a thrilling turn of events, racing sensation Patricio O’Ward is set to make a spectacular return to Formula 1 with McLaren during the Free Practice 1 session of the Mexico City Grand Prix in October. Known for his prowess in the IndyCar championship, O’Ward will temporarily shift his focus to the world of F1, aiming to showcase his exceptional talent on the global stage once again.

The 26-year-old Mexican driver, currently racing for Arrow McLaren IndyCar, is no stranger to the F1 scene. Having participated in three FP1 sessions in the past between 2022 and 2024, O’Ward is ready to rev up his engines and hit the track at the Autodromo ‘Hermanos Rodriguez’ in front of his home crowd on Friday, October 24.

Expressing his excitement for the upcoming opportunity, O’Ward stated, “I am thrilled to be back in the car for Free Practice 1 at my home race in Mexico this year. The fans in Mexico City were incredible last time, and it was a great feeling to make the most of the program the team had planned. I can’t wait to return this year, working with Zak Brown, Andrea Stella, and the entire team.”

Andrea Stella, Team Principal of McLaren, also shared his enthusiasm for O’Ward’s return, announcing, “We are delighted to confirm that Pato O’Ward will participate in Free Practice 1 of the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix, gaining valuable time behind the wheel of the MCL39. Pato made a valuable contribution last season and continues to impress in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, making him an ideal driver for the FP1 session.”

With O’Ward’s undeniable talent and McLaren’s support, all eyes will be on the Mexico Grand Prix as this dynamic driver gears up to leave his mark on the F1 circuit once again. Get ready for a high-octane showdown as O’Ward revs his engines and prepares to take on the world’s best in a display of speed, skill, and determination.
