Mercedes Meltdown: Wolff Laments Catastrophic Qualifying Day in Monaco Grand Prix

2025 Miami Grand Prix, Friday - Richard Pardon

Mercedes F1 Team Faces Nightmare in Monaco Grand Prix Qualifying!

In a shocking turn of events, the Mercedes F1 team had a disastrous Qualifying session at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. Both George Russell and Kimi Antonelli were eliminated in Q2, leaving them starting the race from P14 and P15 respectively. The Silver Arrows were forced to make drastic changes to their car overnight after struggling during practice sessions.

Despite efforts to improve the car balance, the Mercedes W16 continued to suffer from a significant tire temperature imbalance between the front and rear axles. This crucial issue posed a major challenge for the team during the qualifying session, ultimately leading to a disappointing outcome for Mercedes.

Team principal Toto Wolff did not mince words, describing the day as “abysmal” for Mercedes. The underperformance in Qualifying has raised concerns about the team’s competitiveness in the highly anticipated Monaco Grand Prix. With rivals likely gaining an edge, Mercedes faces an uphill battle to secure a strong finish in the race.

As the pressure mounts on the reigning champions, all eyes are now on Mercedes to see if they can overcome this setback and deliver a remarkable performance on race day. Stay tuned for all the thrilling updates from the Monaco Grand Prix as Mercedes fights to reclaim their dominance on the track.
