CEO da Mercedes sugere que Max Verstappen poderia se juntar à equipe em meio a especulações.

The CEO of Mercedes, Ola Källenius, suggested that the German car manufacturer is still interested in hiring Max Verstappen in the future. Källenius made this statement while attending the 2024 race in Barcelona, where the recent improvements of the Silver Arrows resulted in impressive third and fourth places. In a conversation with the press, Källenius jokingly mentioned that in 2026, when there will be changes in the Formula 1 landscape, Verstappen may be interested in joining Mercedes. He emphasized that top drivers like Verstappen naturally aspire to drive for the best teams, and Mercedes’ goal is to create an attractive package to attract talents like him. Källenius also noted that Verstappen’s driving style matches the silver Mercedes cars.

In response to Källenius’ comments, Christian Horner, the head of Red Bull, stated that Verstappen is satisfied with his current team. Horner highlighted Verstappen’s impressive performance this season, with a 70% win rate in Grand Prix races and leading the world championship. He also suggested that statements like Källenius’ may be intended to disrupt the dynamics of the Red Bull team.

Toto Wolff, the head of Mercedes, acknowledged the need to improve the performance of their cars to attract top drivers like Verstappen. He emphasized the focus on car development as a crucial factor in attracting these drivers. Currently, Mercedes is focused on making their cars competitive for the rest of the season. Wolff highlighted the importance of their ongoing efforts to improve performance before aiming for the championship. This strategy demonstrates a commitment to immediate success while keeping their long-term goals in mind, which may influence Verstappen’s decision-making process.

Undoubtedly, Toto Wolff’s statements that Red Bull is facing difficulties with their car, while Mercedes has made significant improvements, may lead Verstappen to consider switching teams in the future. Fans would be thrilled to see Verstappen in the cockpit of a Mercedes car and achieve victories with them in the coming years.
