Chefe da Mercedes acredita que a saída de Helmut Marko da Red Bull seria um grande revés para a equipe.

Red Bull GmbH is launching an investigation into allegations that Dr. Helmut Marko leaked information about Christian Horner’s investigation. The recent period has been challenging for Red Bull Racing, as their team principal has faced scrutiny for alleged misconduct. Although he has been cleared of all charges, there is a possibility that Red Bull’s Motorsport Consultant may face suspension. Mercedes’ Toto Wolff commented on Marko’s possible departure.

Marko was accused of disclosing details about Horner’s investigation to Dutch media outlets. While the octogenarian did not directly address these allegations, Toto Wolff stated that Red Bull would suffer a significant loss if Marko left the team. It is worth noting that Marko is an employee of the Red Bull parent company, not the F1 team itself.

Furthermore, Wolff mentioned that Marko has been a long-standing rival of the Silver Arrows, making him their favorite adversary. Marko has held a prominent position in the paddock for almost two decades and has had a fierce rivalry with Mercedes. Additionally, it was Marko who successfully brought Max Verstappen into the Red Bull driver family, despite efforts by Brackley.

Max Verstappen is undoubtedly one of the most talented drivers in Formula 1 history. The three-time world champion has dominated the sport in recent years, including a record-breaking 2023 season. Throughout this time, Verstappen has been loyal to Helmut Marko. In fact, the 26-year-old driver may even consider leaving Red Bull if Marko is no longer part of the team.

There are rumors that Verstappen is in negotiations with Mercedes for a possible switch in 2025. However, he is currently under contract with Red Bull until at least the end of 2028. However, the investigation into Marko’s actions could create an opportunity for Verstappen to join the Silver Arrows, as it is believed he has an exit clause for an immediate departure.

Undoubtedly, Helmut Marko plays a significant role within Red Bull. His close relationship with Max Verstappen further strengthens his influence within the team. However, the outcome of the investigation against Marko will be intriguing to watch in the coming days.
