Mercedes admits regret for delay in resolving issues with the W15 despite recent improvement in performance.

Mercedes admite arrependimento por atraso em resolver problemas do W15 apesar de recente melhoria no desempenho.

Mercedes has accumulated only a total of 96 points in the 2024 Constructors Championship, which is quite disappointing for the team. Throughout the season, the Mercedes Formula 1 team has experienced a series of ups and downs. However, they are starting to find their way in the battle for the world championship. The team, based in Brackley, has gone through a remarkable journey.

Prior to the upcoming Spanish GP, the Technical Director of Mercedes participated in a detailed conversation about the challenging W15. During this discussion, he admitted that the team had made some foolish decisions regarding the car, which could have been avoided if they had been made earlier.

After nine rounds of racing, Mercedes has managed to accumulate only a total of 96 points, which is not the result they expected. The disappointment is evident in the team’s reaction, especially from the British members of the Brackley-based team. In the recent Grand Prix races, both have shown strong performances, with the latter even securing a pole position in Montreal.

Despite acknowledging that Mercedes could have been faster in the development of the W15, Technical Director James Allison remains confident in the team’s future. He believes that the ongoing work within the team will make them highly competitive in the remaining races of the season.

Mercedes achieved a respectable third and fourth place in the Canadian GP, showing signs of improvement. However, the campaign is far from over. Currently occupying fourth place in the Constructors Championship, the team still has a chance to catch up to the leading teams. To do so, they must deliver consistent performances starting from the upcoming Spanish GP.
