McLaren’s Zak Brown slams Red Bull’s tactics: “We don’t race like that!”

McLaren’s CEO Zak Brown Slams Red Bull’s Tactics: “You Won’t See Such Tricks From Us!”

In a fiery post-race declaration, McLaren’s Chief Executive Officer, Zak Brown, has launched a full-throttle attack on rival Red Bull’s controversial strategies during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, emphatically stating, “This kind of trickery is not how we race at McLaren!”

The tension reached a boiling point during the race when reigning champion Max Verstappen, who had dominated from the start, faced a fierce challenge from teammate Yuki Tsunoda. Tsunoda’s aggressive defense sent Lando Norris off the track during a crucial overtaking maneuver, raising eyebrows and concerns about sportsmanship. Despite the chaos, Norris remained undaunted and managed to reclaim his position, albeit outside the track limits.

The FIA wasted no time in investigating the incident, ultimately handing Tsunoda a five-second penalty for his erratic movements that forced Norris off course. Under current regulations, such actions fall outside the accepted bounds of track limits, leading to a controversial finish that has left fans and teams buzzing.

Brown didn’t hold back in his condemnation of the tactics used by Red Bull. “The defense from Yuki was beyond the limits,” he remarked, acknowledging the high stakes involved in the championship battle. His criticism was sharp and direct: “You won’t see anything like that from us at McLaren.”

This statement comes as a bold reminder of McLaren’s commitment to fair racing and integrity on the track, contrasting sharply with the cutthroat strategies employed by their competitors. In an era where the lines between aggressive racing and unsportsmanlike conduct are increasingly blurred, Brown’s words resonate powerfully, advocating for a return to principled competition.

As the dust settles from the Abu Dhabi showdown, one thing is clear: the rivalry between McLaren and Red Bull is heating up, and the stakes have never been higher.
