McLaren has announced that it will debut the W1 in the U.S. at Exotics on Broadway, which will take place on August 16, during Monterey Car Week.
The supercar will be accompanied by McLaren’s new special edition, the 750S Le Mans, a model presented in June to celebrate the 30th anniversary of McLaren’s first victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The special edition of the 750S, which will be limited to 50 units, pays homage to the legendary F1 GTR, standing out with an aerodynamic package designed by the brand’s special division Woking, McLaren Special Operations (MSO), consisting of a larger carbon fiber splitter, a larger active rear spoiler, and a new body-colored panel under the spoiler.
McLaren states that this aerodynamic package allows for an additional 10% of downforce compared to the standard 750S. Thus, this special Le Mans version is also equipped with a roof air intake and features five-spoke wheels and an optional body color in Le Mans Grey or McLaren Orange, the former referencing the F1 GTR that won in 1995.
The W1 is the successor to the P1 and the most powerful and fastest supercar ever from the Woking brand, equipped with a new 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine with electric assistance, that is, hybrid, which delivers a combined power of 1275 hp and 1340 Nm of maximum torque, ensuring acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 320 km/h, the same as the P1.
