McLaren, recognized for its high-performance and luxurious sports cars, is now venturing into the world of electric bicycles with a limited edition range.
Developed by the same team that creates supercars like the Artura, McLaren’s first electric bicycles, the Extreme 600 and Sport 600, two high-performance electric bicycles use advanced materials such as full suspension with a 29″ front wheel, 27.5″ rear wheel, 145mm rear travel, and 160mm fork travel.
Furthermore, like McLaren’s supercars, the brand’s new e-bikes are made of lightweight and durable carbon fiber, ensuring high performance and durability.
McLaren has announced that their new range of electric mountain bikes offers selectable power modes through an integrated control panel on the handlebars. Cyclists can choose from various modes, ranging from Eco mode, which conserves energy, to Race mode, which provides higher power output and maximum torque for an adrenaline-filled experience.
This more radical mode offers a peak power of 852 W (600 W continuous) and a maximum speed of 32 km/h. The maximum torque is 161 Nm. To complement the exceptional performance, all versions of the Extreme 600 feature Pirelli tires, ensuring superior grip.
In total McLaren’s new range of electric mountain bikes consists of four models, Extreme 250, Extreme 600, Sport 250 and Sport 600. McLaren has not revealed the price of these new “hyperbikes” of high performance, but it is already known that the 250 versions start at €8400 for the Sport variant, and at €11,150 for the Extreme version.
