McLaren seems finally ready to unveil the successor to the P1, which will be presented on the upcoming October 6.
Anticipating the arrival of the new model, the Woking brand published a teaser on social media reminding us of the attributes of its models ending with “1,” namely the F1 and the P1. The video concludes with the date October 6, suggesting the arrival of the new model that will succeed the P1.
Little is known about McLaren’s new sports car. Internally referred to as P18, the successor to the P1 will be the latest addition to McLaren’s Ultimate Series, which last featured the Speedtail.
Everything points to the fact that the P18 will utilize a plug-in hybrid powertrain, featuring a twin-turbo V8. Although the configuration is the same as what McLaren used in the P1 launched over a decade ago, the new model is expected to deliver 1200 hp, a significant power increase compared to its predecessor, which had 903 hp.
What seems certain is that the production of the new McLaren will be limited to fewer than 400 units.
