McLaren has just announced that it has recalled around two hundred units of the 765LT supercar, produced in 2020, due to an issue with the rear window.
The problem was identified by the NHTSA, the entity responsible for road safety in the U.S., after several complaints from owners of the supercar that the polycarbonate rear window may detach from its frame due to a possible adhesive defect.
The recall of 163 units of the McLaren 765LT involves models built between August 3, 2020, and May 19, 2021, and does not include other variants of the 765LT, such as the Spider.
However, McLaren reminds affected owners that they may notice a strange sound in the area of the polycarbonate window when the adhesive begins to fail and recommends that until the issue is resolved, they should not exceed 155 km/h with the windows open and also avoid driving the 765LT supercar on the track.
