Maserati has unveiled its most powerful production car to date, the GT2 Stradale, a road-legal tribute to the brand’s motorsport heritage. With 640 horsepower from its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, the GT2 Stradale outguns the MC20 by 10 hp, making it a true performance beast. It also sheds 60 kilograms (132 pounds) compared to the MC20, tipping the scales in favor of agility and speed. This, combined with its aerodynamic prowess, generates an impressive 500 kilograms (1,102 pounds) of downforce at 280 km/h (174 mph).
The GT2 Stradale is a road-going version of Maserati’s GT2 racecar, featuring race-inspired components like a front suspension derived directly from the competition version. The car’s standout feature is its enormous rear wing, contributing significantly to its downforce. This translates into a finely tuned balance between front and rear, with the car producing 130 kg (287 pounds) of downforce at the front and 370 kg (816 pounds) at the rear, ensuring precise handling.
Performance is nothing short of exhilarating, with a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph). Drivers can dial in their preferred driving experience with the Corsa EVO mode, which includes customizable levels of ABS, traction control, and stability program settings. Available with the Performance Plus package, this mode also brings a fire extinguisher and four-point harnesses, further emphasizing the car’s racing pedigree.
For those seeking the ultimate in performance, the GT2 Stradale offers the Performance Pack, which includes Michelin semi-slick tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, and an electronic limited-slip differential. Additional carbon fiber options allow for even greater weight savings and visual appeal, while the interior remains far from spartan, featuring a 10.25-inch Android Automotive-powered infotainment system with over-the-air updates, Wi-Fi, and Amazon Alexa.
Finished in a variety of paint colors, including the nostalgic Digital Mint Matte that echoes the iconic Vitaphone MC12 GT1, the GT2 Stradale perfectly blends Maserati’s racing heritage with modern technology and luxury. Pricing and availability details are yet to be revealed, but the GT2 Stradale is expected to be a coveted addition to Maserati’s lineup, offering an unparalleled driving experience on both road and track.
