The popular Mazda2 has been refreshed and is now available in the national market with a more modern look and enhanced equipment, starting at €20,860.
The Mazda designers have focused on new style features that give the different versions of the model a more distinct look, allowing for a wider choice of color combinations across the four equipment levels. This has resulted in a redefinition of personalities, with the Mazda2 Centre-Line and Exclusive-Line focusing on a more practical concept, while the Mazda2 Homura and Homura Aka opt for a more sporty character.
Applicable to the entire range, a new grille stands out, with the Mazda wing-shaped frame now positioned behind, rather than below, the license plate, allowing for a more pronounced shape and a sportier finish of the lower bumper.
For a more defined look, this frame cuts through the front edge of the headlights and the asymmetrically placed color flaps are present both in the front grille and the rear bumper. The Centre-Line versions come with 15” steel wheels as standard, while the Exclusive-Line versions are equipped with 16” wheels.
In terms of interiors, the Mazda2 showcases new black, white, or mint tone decorations on the instrument panel, air vent surrounds, and door panels. Apple CarPlay wireless, air conditioning, and cruise control are included as standard. The Homura Aka level adds leather accents to the fabric seats, as well as softer touch materials on the dashboard and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
In terms of mechanics, the refreshed Mazda2 continues to rely on the 1.5-liter Skyactiv G engine, with three power levels (75, 90, and 115 hp), always paired with the six-speed Skyactiv MT manual gearbox.
The entry into the range is made through the 75 hp Skyactiv-G engine, which is exclusive to the Centre-Line variants. The 90 hp mild-hybrid e-Skyactiv G engine is available for the Exclusive-Line, Homura, and Homura Aka levels.
The 115 hp mild-hybrid e-Skyactiv G unit is exclusive to the Mazda2 Homura Aka. The two more powerful engines benefit from Mazda’s M Hybrid technology.
As for prices, Mazda has already announced that the refreshed Mazda 2 is available starting at €20,860 for the Centre-Line variant, while the Homura configuration starts at €25,580. The Exclusive-Line variant starts at €26,395 and the top-of-the-line Homura Aka version starts at €27,795.
