Motor e-Skyactiv R-EV da Mazda conquista prémio no Japão

Mazda has just had its MX-30 R-EV model and the e-Skyactiv R-EV technology that integrates it recognized with the “2024-2025 Japan Automotive Hall of Fame Car Technology of the Year” award.

This is the fifth time that the Japanese brand has been selected by the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame for this “Car Technology of the Year” award.

Marketed in Japan as the MX-30 Rotary-EV, this electric vehicle incorporates the now-awarded e-Skyactiv R-EV technology, an electric propulsion unit that uses a rotary engine, a Mazda exclusive, as a power generator.

In electric mode, the model offers a 100% electric range of 85 kilometers, making it suitable for use as a fully electric vehicle in a wide range of everyday situations; as a plug-in hybrid, the Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV (European designation) utilizes the electricity generated by the rotary engine, allowing for even longer trips, with a total flexible range exceeding 600 kilometers.

“We are extremely honored and grateful to receive this award that recognizes the technological innovation and the challenges we have faced. The rotary engine is a symbol of Mazda’s ‘insatiable challenge’, embodying its uniqueness and technological capabilities in a new electric vehicle, tackling a wide range of challenges”, said Okadome Mitsuyo, chief engineer of the Mazda MX-30.
