The Mazda CX-80, the latest SUV with up to 7 seats and the current flagship of the Hiroshima brand’s range in Europe, has just been awarded the Grand Prix at the “Auto Color Awards 2024.”
This initiative, organized by the Japan Fashion Color Association (JAFCA), recognized the combination of the paint resulting from the blend of the exterior color Melting Copper Metallic and the Black interiors applied to the CX-80 SUV.
In this way, JAFCA highlighted the planning capability of Mazda’s design team in creating harmonious mobility colors for the interiors and exteriors of their vehicles.
Available in Japan in two equipment levels, this award-winning color combination can also be configured in different European markets, including Portugal. As one of the new colors in Mazda’s palette, the Melting Copper tone is currently exclusive to the SUV with up to 7 seats and can be chosen by customers for the three equipment levels in which the model is offered in our country: Exclusive-Line, Homura, and the top-of-the-range Takumi.
Regarding the interior of the new Mazda CX-80, it has been designed to create a stronger impression of the model’s design theme, under the concept of “Graceful Toughness,” making the entire space more inviting while emphasizing its strength.
For this purpose, and in this particular case, materials with a black base and controlled shine are used, with delicate warm accent colors added to refine the balance of the color scheme. In the national market, the distinguished interior combination is associated with the mid-level Homura trim.
This was the fourth time Mazda has been honored with this award, the most recent being in 2019 for the Mazda3, in the exterior color Polymetal Gray Metallic with Burgundy interiors, and for the Mazda CX-30 in the same exterior color, but with Navy Blue-Greige interiors. Three years earlier, the distinction was awarded to the Mazda Roadster RF (MX-5 RF in Europe), in the shade Machine Gray Premium Metallic, with Auburn interiors.
