Max Verstappen’s “Very Disappointing” Performance at Belgian GP Leaves Fans in Disbelief

Damon Hill, the 1996 World Champion, did not hold back on his criticism of Max Verstappen’s performance at the Belgian Grand Prix. Hill sarcastically labeled Verstappen’s race as “very disappointing,” highlighting the missed opportunity for the Red Bull driver to shine at Spa.

Despite high expectations following Red Bull’s aero upgrades, Verstappen could only manage a fourth-place finish at the race. The Dutch driver’s struggles in the mainly dry conditions with a wet setup left many questioning his performance on a track where he has previously excelled.

In a surprising turn of events, it was Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari who impressed with his ability to keep Verstappen at bay, even with the Red Bull upgrades. Hill praised Leclerc for his defensive driving, emphasizing the unexpected outcome of the race.

Verstappen himself expressed disappointment in the handling of the race by Race Control, citing the challenges of adapting to changing track conditions. The decision to switch to dry tires left the Red Bull driver struggling for pace, compounding the issues with his car’s balance.

As the dust settles on the Belgian Grand Prix, the spotlight remains on Verstappen’s underwhelming performance and the missed opportunity for Red Bull to capitalize on their upgrades. With the championship battle heating up, every race becomes crucial, and Verstappen will need to bounce back strongly in the upcoming races to maintain his title challenge.
