Max Verstappen’s Shocking Exit Plan Revealed: Horner’s Explosive McLaren Taunt

Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull Racing, has stirred up controversy by commenting on the rumors surrounding Max Verstappen’s potential move to Mercedes. In a bold statement, Horner dismissed the speculations as mere “chatter,” downplaying any imminent transfer of the Dutch driver to their rivals.

Despite Horner’s attempt to downplay the situation, sources suggest that Verstappen and Mercedes have been in talks for over a year. With Red Bull’s current performance raising concerns about contract clauses that could allow Verstappen to leave before 2028, Horner seems wary of the looming possibility of losing their star driver.

Adding a touch of irony to his remarks, Horner took a jab at McLaren’s CEO, Zak Brown, during a press conference at the Silverstone Grand Prix. When asked about Red Bull’s backup plan if Verstappen departs, Horner cheekily responded, “The plan B if Max leaves? Oscar Piastri,” in a clear swipe at McLaren.

The Formula 1 community is now abuzz with speculation and intrigue as Horner’s comments hint at potential behind-the-scenes negotiations and power plays in the competitive world of motorsport. As the transfer market heats up, all eyes are on Verstappen, Mercedes, and Red Bull Racing to see how this high-stakes game of driver contracts will unfold.
