In a jaw-dropping turn of events at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen managed to escape punishment for what was described as an “ambitious” move on Lewis Hamilton. The FIA stewards revealed the reasons behind their decision not to penalize the Red Bull driver for the incident that occurred during the race.

During Lap 29 of the intense race at the Hungaroring, Verstappen executed a daring maneuver on Hamilton, causing the seven-time F1 champion to run off the track and ultimately losing his position to the Red Bull driver. Despite the absence of physical contact between the two fierce competitors, race control took notice of the incident, prompting a post-race investigation by the stewards.

Verstappen and Hamilton were both called in for a meeting after the race, with Hamilton opting not to attend personally but sending a Ferrari team representative on his behalf. The testimony provided by the Ferrari representative played a crucial role in the stewards’ decision not to penalize Verstappen.

The stewards based their verdict on several key factors. Verstappen argued that he was in full control of his car and took the exit line as Hamilton had already gone off track, leaving space for the maneuver. Additionally, the Ferrari team confirmed that there was no contact between the cars and highlighted that Hamilton chose not to fight to stay on the track.

As a result, the stewards concluded that the incident did not meet the criteria for penalizing Verstappen, despite the daring nature of his move. The decision not to take further action stirred up debates among fans and experts alike, with opinions divided on whether justice was served in this high-stakes racing rivalry.

The intense competition between Verstappen and Hamilton continues to keep Formula 1 enthusiasts on the edge of their seats, with each race delivering its share of drama and controversy. As the championship battle heats up, all eyes are on the dynamic duo to see what twists and turns await in the upcoming races.
