Max Verstappen’s Controversial Move Sparks Outrage in F1 Community

In a shocking turn of events, Max Verstappen has set off a firestorm within the F1 community with his recent social media activity. The reigning world champion raised eyebrows when he liked a post criticizing Red Bull’s decision to demote Liam Lawson, a move that has divided fans and experts alike.

Liam Lawson, who had only participated in two races in the 2025 season for Red Bull, failed to impress compared to Verstappen’s stellar performances. This led to Lawson being replaced by Yuki Tsunoda for the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix, a decision that stirred controversy among fans who believed Lawson deserved more time to prove himself.

Former F1 driver Giedo van der Garde publicly criticized Red Bull for their handling of Lawson’s situation and commended the Kiwi driver for his dedication. Verstappen’s support of van der Garde’s post hinted at his disagreement with Red Bull’s choice to remove Lawson from the team so hastily.

Despite the backlash, Verstappen has remained vocal about the need for improvements within the Red Bull team. The Dutch driver has been pushing for changes to the car’s performance, with Red Bull advisor Dr. Helmut Marko acknowledging the importance of listening to Verstappen’s feedback to enhance the team’s competitiveness.

Marko revealed that a meeting had been scheduled with Verstappen to address the car’s issues and implement necessary updates to boost performance. With the 2026 season regulation changes on the horizon, Red Bull faces immense pressure to not only catch up to their rivals but also secure a stronger position in the championship standings.

As the F1 world watches with bated breath, all eyes are on Verstappen and Red Bull to see if they can overcome the challenges ahead and reclaim their dominance on the track. The upcoming races will undoubtedly be crucial in determining the team’s fate and Verstappen’s quest for another championship victory.
