Max Verstappen slams British media as “childish” after press conference drama

Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen has unleashed his fury on the British media, branding them as “very childish” following a press conference incident after the Canadian Grand Prix qualifiers. The focus leading up to the race was on Verstappen’s penalty points, just one point away from a potential race ban due to a recent collision with George Russell in Spain.

After securing the second spot in qualifying, Verstappen was confronted by host Tom Clarkson regarding his penalty points, to which the Dutch driver responded sharply, deeming the questioning as a “waste of time” and “childish.” He expressed his frustration, stating, “I really don’t have anything to do with that at all… it’s just very irritating and I’m not here for that.”

Despite George Russell’s remarks about having more points on his license, Verstappen clarified that his annoyance lies specifically with the British press. Dismissing Russell’s comments, he emphasized, “This kind of comment from the British media is just very childish. I just don’t want to waste too much time on it.”

Verstappen’s outburst comes in the wake of a heated qualifying session, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown at the Canadian Grand Prix. Stay tuned for more updates as tensions rise in the world of Formula 1.
