Max Verstappen Reigns Supreme while Lewis Hamilton Faces a Historic Downfall

In a stunning turn of events, Max Verstappen has once again cemented his dominance in the world of Formula 1, clinching the coveted driver-of-the-year title for an astonishing fifth consecutive time. The Red Bull superstar emerged victorious in the highly-competitive end-of-season peer vote, leaving his fellow drivers in awe. Meanwhile, the legendary Lewis Hamilton suffered a seismic fall from grace, missing the rankings for the first time ever, a shocking revelation that has sent ripples through the racing community.

The anonymous poll, which saw participation from nearly all drivers on the grid, revealed the intense competition for top honors. Verstappen, despite narrowly missing out on securing a fifth consecutive drivers’ championship in 2025, achieved victory by amassing an impressive 25 points from six different ballots. The Red Bull ace’s relentless pursuit of excellence has once again placed him at the pinnacle of the sport.

Challenging Verstappen was the newly-crowned world champion, Lando Norris, who finished a commendable second in the peer rankings for the second year in a row. Norris’s title triumph was nothing short of spectacular; he showcased resilience and skill throughout a nail-biting season, fending off fierce competition from Verstappen and his McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri.

George Russell, the Mercedes star, made significant strides this year, securing third place and marking a one-position rise from last year’s standings. Russell’s season was highlighted by two grand prix victories and seven podium finishes, establishing him as a formidable force on the track. Just behind him, Oscar Piastri fought valiantly to secure fourth place, despite a challenging late-season slump that saw his championship hopes wane after leading by a remarkable 34 points earlier.

Completing the top five was Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, who, despite a drop of two positions, demonstrated exceptional skill by extracting maximum performance from his SF-25. The Monegasque driver achieved seven podium finishes in a tumultuous year for the Scuderia, who ultimately finished fourth in the constructors’ standings.

Carlos Sainz held steady in sixth place, showcasing an impressive recovery at Williams after a troubled start, while Fernando Alonso climbed to seventh, delivering standout performances in the Aston Martin AMR25. Meanwhile, Alex Albon celebrated his best campaign with Williams, finishing eighth, and rookies Oliver Bearman and Isack Hadjar rounded out the top ten, earning accolades for their remarkable debut seasons.

However, the most shocking revelation came with Lewis Hamilton’s absence from the rankings. The seven-time world champion, who has dominated the sport for years, found himself on the outside looking in, reflecting a challenging debut season at Ferrari. This marks a significant moment in F1 history, as Hamilton is no longer among the elite ranks in this peer poll, raising questions about his future performance and the trajectory of his illustrious career.

The four drivers who chose not to participate in the vote included Hamilton, Nico Hulkenberg, Lance Stroll, and Yuki Tsunoda, but their absence did little to overshadow the drama unfolding among the remaining competitors.

As the dust settles on this thrilling season, Max Verstappen stands tall, a testament to his relentless pursuit of greatness, while Lewis Hamilton grapples with a new reality that could forever alter the landscape of Formula 1 racing. The stage is set for an exhilarating new season, and fans worldwide are left wondering: can Hamilton bounce back, or is the rise of a new generation of drivers upon us?
