Max Verstappen elogia Fernando Alonso ‘de bom coração’.

Max Verstappen stated that he and Fernando Alonso were the pioneers of their respective nations in achieving success in Formula 1.

Since the start of the 2024 season, Verstappen has won six races and achieved two top 5 finishes, which is lower compared to his performance in the previous season. The Dutch driver faced difficulties in Monaco, but emerged victorious in the recent race in Montreal, despite numerous challenges. Verstappen expressed his admiration for the two-time world champion.

During a post-race interview, the three-time world champion praised Alonso for his achievements over the years. Verstappen also praised Alonso’s character as a good human being. Additionally, Verstappen mentioned that the 42-year-old Spaniard always showed happiness when another driver performed well.

The Dutchman also highlighted that Alonso, as a representative of Spain, played a significant role in popularizing Formula 1 in his country and became the first Spanish driver to achieve this feat. Similarly, Verstappen stated that he was the first Dutch driver to win the Formula 1 World Championship.

Max on why he gets along well with Fernando: “Fernando has always been true to himself, and I deeply appreciate that. Despite his immense success, he remains a genuine driver and a good-hearted person. I truly value these qualities. He also genuinely celebrates the success of others…” pic.twitter.com/P5fWGl6wFy

During the interview, Verstappen made some lighthearted jokes, comparing his love for racing with Alonso’s passion for the sport. However, the three-time world champion acknowledged that Alonso’s love for the sport surpasses his own, considering that the Spanish driver is still racing at the age of 42.

Max Verstappen still expressed his admiration for Alonso’s longevity in Formula 1. The 26-year-old driver recalled his days in karting when he looked at Fernando Alonso and considered him the epitome of a “racing driver”.

Undoubtedly, Max Verstappen has immense respect for the 42-year-old driver. The three-time world champion has had the privilege of racing alongside his childhood idol over the years, forming a strong bond between the two drivers. Fans eagerly await more memorable moments between Verstappen and Alonso in the coming weeks.
