Max Verstappen praises F1 Sprint format for adding excitement to races.

Max Verstappen has expressed his dissatisfaction with the previous sprint race format and has now praised the changes made for this year’s Formula 1 (F1) season.

The 2024 F1 season will undergo several modifications. It will consist of 24 races, including a few triple headers, and some races have been rescheduled to minimize travel between events. The Sprint format will also be different. Verstappen has shared his thoughts on these alterations.

The current world champion was not pleased with the old sprint format introduced by F1 in 2023. Under the new format, Qualifying for the Grand Prix will take place on Saturday after the Sprint race, while Sprint Qualifying will occur on Friday after the Free Practice session. Verstappen believes that this change reflects a more logical approach to the overall format. He also mentioned that he didn’t find winning the sprint races in the old format exciting, so he welcomes the changes.

Verstappen also praised the relaxed Parc Ferme rules, as this will prevent teams and drivers from getting stuck with the wrong setup and ruining their weekend. The new format is expected to benefit both drivers and teams during race weekends.

After a dominant performance in the 2023 season, Verstappen and his team in Milton Keynes unveiled their 2024 challenger. Verstappen’s goal for the upcoming season is to have a dominant drive in a highly competitive car throughout the year.

He emphasized that he will give his best effort, but his performance will also depend on various factors, including how well other teams position themselves on the grid. Verstappen acknowledged that other teams are quickly adapting and challenging Red Bull at the forefront.

Despite this, the team is expected to deliver a similar performance to the 2023 season. While they may not dominate the entire season, the drivers will strive for maximum results. The team is now awaiting the outcome of an ongoing investigation as the first race approaches in less than a month.
