Max Verstappen, the outspoken Formula 1 driver, didn’t hold back on his opinions about the recent Monaco Grand Prix. In a sarcastic response to the mandatory two-stop rule, Verstappen jokingly suggested that maybe next year, the race should include “four stops” to spice things up.

The new rule was implemented to add excitement to the iconic Monaco circuit, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations as overtaking remained a significant challenge throughout the race. Despite leading parts of the race, Verstappen ultimately had to settle for fourth place, where he started.

Verstappen’s witty comments didn’t stop there. When asked about the lack of action during the race, he humorously remarked, “Very exciting. I was on the edge of my seat every lap.” His nonchalant attitude towards the race outcome was evident when he mentioned, “I could have done four stops, I would have still been P4.”

The top four drivers maintained their positions from the start, emphasizing the difficulty of overtaking at Monaco due to the circuit layout and the current F1 cars’ limitations. Red Bull team boss Christian Horner highlighted the fundamental issue of overtaking at Monaco, pointing towards the track’s design as the main culprit.

Verstappen’s candid remarks and playful suggestions for more pit stops added a lighthearted touch to an otherwise uneventful race. As fans eagerly await the next Grand Prix, Verstappen’s humorous take on the Monaco GP has certainly sparked discussions within the F1 community.
