Max Verstappen, a name that has become synonymous with Formula 1 greatness, is embarking on a new journey. The four-time consecutive World Champion has unveiled an impressive expansion of his racing team, Verstappen.com Racing, in collaboration with Aston Martin. The expansion is a part of a new GTWC Endurance project that signals a new beginning for the prodigious racer and his team.
Verstappen’s notable achievements in Formula 1 have cemented his status as one of the sport’s all-time greats. His sights are firmly set on a fifth straight championship win in 2025. However, Verstappen’s passion for racing extends beyond the Formula 1 track. An ardent sim racer for Team Redline, he also helms his own racing team. This year promises to bring thrilling developments for his squad.
Adding to the excitement, Verstappen was recently seen testing Aston Martin GT3 machinery at Circuit Paul Ricard, the erstwhile host of the French Grand Prix. The Dutch racer has now publicized his team’s inaugural venture into the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
As part of this new venture, Verstappen.com Racing will join forces with the 2 Seas Motorsport team. This alliance will see Team Redline’s virtual racer, Chris Lulham, transition from the simulated world to the real racing track. He will team up with Thierry Vermeulen, another member of Verstappen’s squad, to operate an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo. They will be joined by British racer Harry King, rounding off the formidable lineup.
Lulham will also participate in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup alongside Vermeulen, a veteran entering his third season. The duo will collaborate with Emil Frey Racing to operate the Ferrari 296 GT3.
On Instagram, Verstappen shared his excitement, stating, “Very proud to kick off this next chapter with Verstappen.com Racing.” He expressed his anticipation for the upcoming year, noting that it will be an exciting one for his team.
Furthermore, Verstappen stated his long-held aspiration to mentor young drivers and create a pathway for sim racers to transition into real world racing. With Lulham’s promotion from Team Redline’s sim racing to GT3 Sprint and Endurance Racing, Verstappen’s dream is finally becoming a reality.
Teaming up with professional support teams in challenging championships, Verstappen is eager to learn and enhance their performance with the cars and drivers. His goal is to compete and thrive at the top of the field. He believes this is a monumental step forward for sim racers, providing them with an opportunity to compete against established racing drivers. With all these developments, Verstappen’s exhilaration for the year ahead is palpable.
