Max Verstappen chama atenção para cláusula polêmica em contrato com a Red Bull.

Max Verstappen expressed his dissatisfaction with the previous year’s Canadian Grand Prix, revealing that it was Helmut Marko who directly opposed the concept, citing possible dangers.

Following a disappointing DNF at the Melbourne Grand Prix, Red Bull’s chief advisor Helmut Marko revealed a bit too much about Max Verstappen’s activities between races, especially his skiing trip in Japan.

Verstappen’s premature departure in Melbourne disrupted his attempt to establish a new record of 10 consecutive wins in F1, a setback he aimed to overcome at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Verstappen has a history of triumph in Suzuka and was eager to add another victory to his repertoire.

However, Marko’s comments on Verstappen’s skiing activities raised suspicions, given Verstappen’s substantial contract with Red Bull, which prohibits engaging in dangerous sports like skiing to avoid the risk of injuries.

Marko confessed to OE24 that Verstappen was skiing in Japan, boasting about the “wonderful and best deep snow in the world.”

This admission was surprising, considering Verstappen had previously stated he hadn’t skied in five years due to the associated risks and the explicit ban in his contract, which extends until the end of 2028.

When confronted about the contract violation, Marko admitted he may have revealed too much, emphasizing the sensitive nature of Verstappen’s extracurricular interests.

This is not the first time Verstappen’s adventurous spirit has been limited by contractual obligations.

In September 2023, he was prevented from participating in the Red Bull Formula Nürburgring event, an opportunity to drive an F1 car on the demanding Nordschleife, due to the same clause.

These occurrences highlight the delicate balance between athletes’ personal interests and professional responsibilities, especially in high-pressure environments like Formula 1, where physical well-being and safety are of utmost importance.

Despite setbacks and limitations, Verstappen remains unwavering in his focus on his racing career, seeking continuous success on the circuit while navigating the complexities of his contract and his team’s expectations.
