Max Verstappen jokingly stated that he will not continue his Formula 1 career for another ten years, as the Dutch driver plans to retire within that time frame.

Max Verstappen, an exceptional talent in the world of F1, has showcased his extraordinary abilities in the past few seasons. He achieved victory in 19 out of the 23 races in the previous season, and currently holds a 50% win rate in the 14 races of the current season, with 10 races remaining. This remarkable talent and dedication have earned him three world titles. However, despite his young age of 26, Verstappen disclosed that he does not envision himself continuing in the sport for another decade.

During a recent interview, Max Verstappen was asked about his future in the sport after ten years, as well as his relationship with another driver following a collision in Austria. Verstappen expressed that friendships within the sport are indeed possible and respected. He emphasized the mutual respect and camaraderie he shares with Lando Norris on the track, even engaging in sports activities together.

Max Verstappen acknowledged that the drivers of his generation have a strong bond due to their shared experiences of kart racing during their formative years. This bond, which encompasses both their rivalries and friendships, often influences their interactions on and off the track. However, they quickly overcome any conflicts that arise. With a lighthearted tone, Verstappen playfully discussed his future plans, stating that he intends to retire within the next ten years and will certainly not be a part of Formula 1 by then. He found it amusing to contemplate retirement, despite still being young and at the pinnacle of his career.

Following the Hungarian GP, Max Verstappen criticized the team for a strategic error. The Dutch driver collided with Lewis Hamilton during the final phase of the race. Verstappen discussed his relationship with his race engineer, highlighting their shared determination to win and their refusal to settle for anything less than first place. They understand that winning every race is not always feasible and are highly self-critical in their pursuit of excellence. While striving for perfection is challenging and not always attainable, Verstappen emphasized their relentless efforts to come as close as possible.

Undoubtedly, Max Verstappen’s frustration stems from his unwavering desire to win. He always prioritizes victory over settling for second or third place. The Hungarian GP may have caused tensions within the team, but they have since resolved the issues and returned to their usual track. Verstappen firmly believes in aiming for perfection, acknowledging that heated moments occasionally arise in the pursuit of excellence.
