Max Verstappen colide com Lando Norris mostra urgência do campeão da Fórmula 1.

Max Verstappen may have succumbed to the pressure while battling with Lando Norris for the lead in the Austrian Grand Prix. The two drivers were involved in a fierce competition, but the collision between them at turn 3 changed the course of the race. Norris was forced to retire, while Verstappen managed to score some points after a pit stop. It seems that Verstappen was determined to secure a victory at any cost.

Verstappen had a comfortable advantage throughout the Grand Prix, with Norris unable to catch up to him. However, a slow pit stop erased Verstappen’s advantage, allowing Norris to close in. In the end, the collision between the two drivers dashed any hopes of victory. Norris accused Verstappen of recklessness and desperation, raising questions about the mindset of the F1 champion.

Prior to the incident, Verstappen and Norris engaged in an exciting battle on the track. Verstappen showcased his defensive skills against the McLaren driver. Although Norris claimed that Verstappen made a sudden move during braking, it became evident that both drivers were feeling the pressure. Norris also exceeded track limits and received a time penalty.

Red Bull did not inform Verstappen about Norris’ investigation for exceeding track limits, leaving Verstappen to defend his position until the end of the race. However, the video of the accident suggests that Verstappen’s defense may have been overly aggressive, leading to the collision.

Unsurprisingly, the stewards deemed Verstappen responsible for the incident. He received a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points on his Super License. Verstappen stated that he would review the footage before drawing conclusions, while Norris placed the blame on the Dutch driver.

Undoubtedly, Verstappen is feeling the pressure from Norris in the last races. The current world champion missed a possible victory or podium in Red Bull’s home race. However, it is evident that Verstappen will come back stronger in the next stage of the season at Silverstone.
