Mexican GP Drama: Verstappen’s Controversial Tactics Ignite F1 Debate – Max Verstappen has accepted that he ‘broke a rule’ to score points

Max Verstappen, known for his dominance on the Formula 1 circuit, recently weighed in on the long-standing fan debate about his preference for pets. While his love for cats has been well-documented through social media and livestreams, the Dutchman surprised many by revealing in a recent interview that he actually identifies as a dog person.

A Life with Both Cats and Dogs

Verstappen, who currently owns three Bengal cats, including a recently adopted kitten, clarified his position:

“I am a dog person,” Verstappen admitted. “I grew up with dogs and cats, just that cats are a bit more self-sufficient at home, you know, and when I’m traveling a lot to take care of a dog, it’s like a child. So it’s a bit more difficult.”

Verstappen’s reasoning reflects the lifestyle challenges of a world champion constantly on the move. Cats, he noted, are more independent, making them easier to care for while he travels.

Fond Memories of His Dog

While Verstappen’s current household is feline-focused, he hasn’t forgotten his bond with dogs. The reigning champion owned a dog who passed away in December 2020. Since then, his preference for pets at home has leaned towards cats, given their low-maintenance nature.

No Pets at the Racetrack

Despite his affection for animals, Verstappen is clear about one thing: pets don’t belong at the racetrack. He explained that traveling with pets, especially dogs, would be stressful for the animals.

“No, even if I would have a dog, I wouldn’t want the dog to come here because it’s very stressful. Everyone wanting to touch him, it’s not nice for a dog,” Verstappen said.

This thoughtful approach showcases Verstappen’s concern for the well-being of animals, preferring to keep them in environments where they’re most comfortable.

A Loving Home Awaits a New Addition

Verstappen’s personal life is about to become even more heartwarming. His long-time girlfriend recently announced her pregnancy, adding another layer of joy to the Dutchman’s already full life. With his growing family and his trio of cats, Verstappen is building a loving home environment.

The arrival of a new family member promises to make the Verstappen household even more vibrant, blending the champion’s love for animals with his burgeoning family life.
