Max Verstappen Clashes with Ted Kravitz: The Las Vegas GP Debate Heats Up!

In a fiery exchange that has sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 community, Max Verstappen has vehemently challenged Ted Kravitz’s assertions regarding the Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit. The reigning champion made it crystal clear that comparing the Sin City track to other low-downforce circuits where Red Bull has triumphed is a grave misjudgment.

Kravitz, the ever-inquisitive Sky F1 pit-lane reporter, dared to suggest that Verstappen’s previous victories in the 2025 season at tracks with similar downforce levels set him up for success in Las Vegas. However, a cool-headed Verstappen was quick to dismiss this notion, emphasizing the unique challenges posed by the Las Vegas circuit. “But it’s a lot colder here, and the surface is very slippery,” he asserted, underscoring the distinct conditions that drivers face in the desert.

The drama intensified during the second practice session, which was marred by manhole cover issues, leaving teams and drivers scrambling to adapt. With just two minutes remaining, the session faced a red flag, preventing many from securing crucial final laps. In a surprising twist, championship leader Lando Norris clinched the fastest time at 1:33.602, just 0.029 seconds ahead of Kimi Antonelli, while Verstappen found himself languishing in ninth place.

Following the tumultuous session, Verstappen candidly spoke to Kravitz about the complexities of the Red Bull RB21’s balance amidst the disruptions. “It’s been okay, just been difficult to understand what to do with these interruptions,” he admitted, hinting at the challenges the team faces in optimizing performance. He acknowledged that improvements are necessary, particularly in finding more grip on the evolving track surface.

Kravitz pressed on, pointing to Verstappen’s impressive record on similar low-downforce tracks this season, which includes back-to-back wins at Monza and Baku. However, the Dutch driver struck back, reminding Kravitz that the Las Vegas track presents a unique set of hurdles that cannot be overlooked: “It’s not a given that you are then quick here,” he insisted, highlighting the critical differences in air and track temperatures that define this exhilarating race.

As Verstappen aims for a stellar finish in Las Vegas to keep his hopes of a fifth consecutive Drivers’ Championship alive, the stakes couldn’t be higher. With the pressure mounting and the competition fierce, all eyes will be on the Red Bull star as he navigates the challenges presented by this iconic circuit.

Stay tuned as the Las Vegas GP unfolds, and brace yourself for the drama that Formula 1 promises to deliver!
