Title: Max Verstappen and Gabriel Bortoleto: A Rising Friendship with Audi Aspirations!

In a thrilling revelation from the fast-paced world of Formula 1, Brazilian rookie Gabriel Bortoleto has opened the door to a potential powerhouse partnership with none other than four-time World Champion Max Verstappen. The budding friendship, forged through countless hours of gaming and sim racing, could lead to a sensational alliance at Audi, should Verstappen ever choose to shift gears and embrace a new challenge.

Bortoleto, who has made waves in the 2025 F1 season with four points finishes in just six races, has not only found his feet on the track but has also cultivated a close bond with the Dutch maestro. Their camaraderie goes beyond racing strategies; it stems from a shared passion for Call of Duty and sim racing, where they have both enjoyed spirited competition and friendly banter.

“Yeah, it was funny. We played some Call of Duty. That’s how we spend the days, right?” Bortoleto shared during the Italian Grand Prix, hinting at the light-hearted moments they share off the track. He added, “It was good to just have fun and laugh a little bit,” while throwing in a humorous jab at Verstappen’s attempts at Portuguese, noting, “You should ask him the words he knows! It’s very bad ones, so I cannot say it here!”

As Bortoleto continues to navigate the high-octane world of F1, he has expressed immense gratitude for the wisdom Verstappen imparts. “We drive a lot together in the sim and we practice a lot,” he explained, emphasizing how the four-time champion’s insights on corner techniques and track strategies have been invaluable. The rookie driver acknowledged, “He achieved a lot in his career, and I’m super glad to have someone like him being very helpful.”

The roots of their friendship trace back to 2023, during Bortoleto’s stint in Formula 3, where Verstappen began mentoring him, fostering a relationship that flourished despite their current roles as rivals on the grid. Bortoleto affirmed, “He started helping me when I was in Formula 3, and we became good friends,” expressing his admiration for Verstappen, whom he regards as “the top guy in Formula 1.”

But could fans see these two titans battling it out as teammates in the near future? While Bortoleto is locked into a contract with Sauber, which transitions to the Audi factory team next year, Verstappen remains under contract with Red Bull until 2028. However, with his future wide open, Bortoleto boldly stated, “Maybe he comes to Audi one day, I don’t know!”

He further elaborated on the potential synergy, highlighting, “He didn’t win four titles because he was lucky. He won it because he built a championship-winning team from the ground up.” Bortoleto’s enthusiasm is palpable as he envisions a collaborative future, saying, “When we get a team and bring the team together… I believe working together wouldn’t be a bad thing.”

As Bortoleto’s performance continues to improve, coinciding with Sauber’s technical upgrades, team principal Jonathan Wheatley has lauded the young driver’s work ethic and maturity. Wheatley stated, “He’s continuing to mature… he really is putting everything into it, and he wants to learn everything he can.”

With the racing world watching closely, the potential for Bortoleto and Verstappen to unite at Audi could reshape the landscape of Formula 1, blending youthful ambition with seasoned expertise. As the season unfolds, fans and pundits alike will be left to wonder: will this dynamic duo take to the track together in the future? One thing is for certain: the friendship between these two drivers is one to watch as it evolves from friendly competition to possibly a formidable partnership in the years to come!
