Nurdin Pitarevic, former COO of Rimac Technologies, is the successor to Mate Rimac in the executive leadership of the Croatian company, a change presented as essential for achieving the goal of positioning itself among the top suppliers of components for the automotive industry. Mate Rimac, the 38-year-old entrepreneur who founded the company in 2009, upon “liberating himself” from the role of CEO, can focus more on leading Bugatti Rimac, a company created in 2021 by Rimac Automobiles and Porsche (the former holds 55% of the capital, the latter 45%).
The change in leadership at Rimac Technology is an important moment in the company’s year of transformation that has already supplied tens of thousands of battery systems and electric motors to customers. The appointment of Nurdin Pitarevic aims to reinforce this status and ensure responsiveness to all new supply contracts signed with more car manufacturers. And Mate Rimac retains control of the consortium he created.
“Nurdin Pitarevic, as Chief Operating Officer, has demonstrated exceptional leadership capabilities. And I observed this directly, as I had him as my deputy in leading Rimac Technology”, explained Mate Rimac. “He combines operational experience with very well-defined strategic thinking. He is the right person to lead the new growth phase of an increasingly important division for our group, in order to make it, definitively, a world-class company,” he concluded.

Since joining Rimac Technology, after working for a top supplier in Europe, Nurdin Pitarevic has led the company during a period of rapid operational expansion and industrialization. “Our strategy is long-term. We are building a reference company in technology that combines digitalization, innovation, digitalization, and sustainable profitability. There are new programs close to the start of mass production; it is the right time for us to accelerate this growth trajectory,” said the new CEO of Rimac Technology.
In the expansion plan until 2030, the company aims to focus on advanced electrification technologies, on digitized operations supported by artificial intelligence, on next-generation batteries with solid-state cells, and on the continuous expansion of production capacity. The company is a partner of the BMW Group and Ceer Motors, and has several confidential programs under contract or in development. Marko Brkljacic is the new Chief Operating Officer of Rimac Technology.
