Maserati reinforced its commitment this Monday to offer electric versions of all models in its range by 2028, as part of its electrification strategy.
In this way, the Trident brand intends to gradually discontinue its combustion engine models over the next four years.
However, the end of combustion engines will depend on markets, as Maserati CEO Davide Grasso revealed to “Motor Authority” that electrification is not progressing at the same speed in all markets. In addition, Maserati has stated that the Folgore range is ready to dominate and represent the future of the Trident brand worldwide.
It is worth noting that Maserati’s journey towards electrification began with the GranTurismo Folgore, which was the first car in the brand’s history to adopt a 100% electric powertrain capable of delivering 760 hp, thanks to its advanced 800 V technology, and also featuring all-wheel drive.
Next came the 100% electric SUV Grecale Folgore equipped with a 105 kWh battery, using 400 V technology and delivering over 500 hp.
Now it will be the turn of the GranCabrio Folgore, an elegant and refined convertible version of the GranTurismo, which will be joined in 2025 by the super sports car MC20 Folgore.
