Maserati has announced that it will unveil a new supercar on August 16th, during the Monterey Car Week, which will take place in California, USA, from August 14th to 19th.
Little is known about the new model, however Maserati has already revealed that the powerful car – designed, developed, and produced entirely in Italy – inherits the competitive spirit of the GT2, the track-only supercar from the Modena brand; at the same time, it is a new evolution of the MC20, the iconic model of the Trident brand, the first equipped with the Nettuno V6 engine.
In this way, the Modena brand may surprise with the presentation of a road version of the GT2, and it is certain that Maserati has already stated that the new model will be a “unique car, with an unmistakable aesthetic, defined by a wide range of customization options, with typical details of a competition car, but without sacrificing comfort or the fundamentals of road models.”.
In addition, Maserati adds that the new model is a “car intended to enter the wish list of customers attracted to the most extreme supercars, ready to welcome drivers and make them feel like true pilots, even outside the tracks.”.
In the revealed teaser, it clearly shows the front of the MC20 with the air vents of the GT2 and a lower spoiler that is not as aggressive as the Maserati’s competition version.
