Mārtiņš Sesks, from Latvia, will have the support of WRC Promoter and M-Sport Ford. He will have the opportunity to drive an M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1 at the Orlen 80th Rally Poland and a full Rally1 HYBRID at his home stages at the Tet Rally Latvia. Sesks, who is 24 years old, received confirmation of this support today and will make his debut in Rally1 in June at the ORLEN 80th Rally Poland. This program is part of WRC Promoter’s efforts to help drivers transition to the main rally category. Sesks, former FIA WRC Junior vice-champion in 2020, has shown great skill on gravel and won the last two editions of the Tet Rally Liepāja. He is considered a promising driver and, over time, could become a regular face in the WRC. M-Sport Ford team principal, Richard Millener, expressed his excitement to work with Sesks and WRC Promoter as they will be able to use the new regulations for 2024 and run Rally1 cars without the hybrid unit. This not only offers a more cost-effective solution for customer drivers, but also allows drivers like Sesks to transition to Rally1 comfortably. Sesks expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and mentioned that it is a dream come true to join M-Sport Ford and WRC Promoter. He acknowledged the effort of many people, including his family, in helping him reach this point in his career. Now, he is looking forward to competing alongside the world’s most elite drivers with Rally1 cars.
