Ford confirmed this Friday that Martin Sander, general manager of the American brand in Europe, will leave the position he has held since June 12, after being a key player in the brand’s journey towards electric mobility in Europe.
57-year-old Sander was responsible for the development of electric vehicles, as well as for the development of software and services for connected vehicles for Ford in Europe.
Upon leaving Ford, Sander has already been confirmed by VW as the new head of sales, marketing, and after-sales for the German brand, succeeding Imelda Labbé in the position and reporting to VW CEO Thomas Schaefer.
“Sander will provide a new boost to position the VW brand’s sales organization sustainably for the future,” Schaefer said in a statement.
In this way, Martin Sander is returning to the VW Group, as before joining Ford, he held various management positions at Audi AG in North America and Europe.
