Jorge Martin won an exciting battle with Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia to end an unforgettable MotoGP weekend, winning the French Grand Prix. After his previous victory in the Sprint race, Martin successfully defended his pole position against late pressure from his rivals, with Marquez overtaking Bagnaia to secure second place. Bagnaia made an impressive start and led the race in the first half, closely pursued by Martin, who remained less than half a second away throughout the race. Eventually, the two riders engaged in a fierce battle in the opening and final sectors. Both struggled with tire grip towards the end, opting for the softer rear compound. Despite their efforts, Martin managed to hold off Bagnaia and secure the victory at the French Grand Prix. Marquez, who started from 13th position, steadily advanced through the pack, overtaking Fabio Di Giannantonio and both Aprilia riders. Marquez eventually caught up to Martin and Bagnaia, passing the latter on the final lap to secure second place. Enea Bastianini made a late pass on Espargaro at Turn 10, forcing the Aprilia rider off track. Although Bastianini received a long lap penalty, he set the fastest lap of the race and finished fourth. Maverick Vinales achieved a consistent fifth place, with Aprilia showing signs of improvement by narrowing the gap to the leaders. Fabio Di Giannantonio, initially in contention for a podium finish, settled for sixth place after going off track at Turn 8 and losing positions to other riders. Franco Morbidelli had an impressive performance, securing seventh place and valuable points for the VR46 team. KTM faced difficulties throughout the weekend, but Brad Binder managed an impressive recovery from the back of the grid to finish eighth. However, Jack Miller struggled and retired from the race, while Augusto Fernandez finished in 13th place, earning some points for GasGas KTM after Pedro Acosta’s early retirement. Acosta’s attempt to overtake Di Giannantonio at Turn 8 resulted in a collision with Aleix Espargaro’s Aprilia, leading to his fall and subsequent retirement. Shortly after, Marco Bezzecchi also crashed while battling with the Ducati riders around him. Espargaro struggled to regain his pace after being overtaken by several riders, finishing ninth. Alex Marquez completed the top ten. Raul Fernandez finished 11th for Trackhouse Aprilia, having a slightly more challenging race despite showing promising pace early in the weekend. Unfortunately, his teammate Miguel Oliveira crashed. Johann Zarco was the top Honda rider, finishing 12th, a few seconds behind the leaders. Joan Mir, initially in contention for a top-ten finish, lost control of his bike due to decreasing grip levels. Takaaki Nakagami, Zarco’s teammate at LCR Honda, scored points by finishing 14th. The final points-paying position went to Yamaha’s Alex Rins, although Yamaha had a disappointing weekend with local hero Fabio Quartararo falling out of the top ten, much to the disappointment of the French fans.
