Marquez discutiu assento de fábrica na MotoGP.

Marc Márquez revealed that he has had conversations with MotoGP factory teams regarding the 2025 season, stating that he has more than one option available to him.

The Spanish rider decided to leave his contract with Honda in 2024 to join the Gresini Ducati team and ride a 2024-spec bike, as Honda was not competitive.

This season has started well for the eight-time champion, with two podiums in the races at Portimão and COTA, providing a solid foundation.

At the last weekend in Jerez, it was his best performance since switching teams, as Márquez finished second after an exciting battle with reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia.

After signing a one-year contract with Gresini, Márquez is being considered as a possible candidate for a promotion to a factory team in the 2025 season.

Márquez is being considered for a spot at Ducati alongside current championship leader Jorge Martin and current rider Enea Bastianini, but he indicated that it is his only choice.

“The most important thing is that the results are coming. So far, there has been speed, but no results,” he said after the Jerez tests on Monday.

“Let’s see if we confirm this in Le Mans. I always said that the faster you go on track, the more options you have.

“The most important thing is that ‘the plan’ is going well, and when there are results, the factories contact me and there have already been discussions.”

“Mentally, I am clear about what I want.”

When asked if securing a place at Ducati depends on him, he told Autosport: “Well, that depends on several factors, but what matters is that I have a clear understanding and I have more than one option.”

The 2024 season has already seen the Italian manufacturer extend Bagnaia’s contract for another two years until 2026.

The rising star of Moto2, Fermin Aldeguer, will join one of the Ducati teams in 2025, but it has not yet been announced which team the Spanish rider will end up in.

Brad Binder has also extended his contract with KTM until the end of 2026, potentially opening the door for Márquez to join the Austrian manufacturer as well.
